While Australian Shepherds were originally bred to be herding dogs, their intelligence and devotion to their people make them so much more. They have proven themselves to be amazing dogs for livestock, but are just as great for service, therapy, guarding, agility, and much more. Even as a family pet, an Aussie has a job. Whether it’s greeting you at the door when you get home from work, waking the kids up in the morning for school, accompanying you on a big adventure, or comforting you on your bad days (we all have them!)
